Career
Ocular AI (SF - ATL -NYC)
I'm currently building Ocular AI, a data foundry for AI.
2021 - 2025: Google V3 (NYC)
Built mission-critical services at the bottom of all of Google services. Chief among them is Chubby, Google's planet-scale, highly-available, distributed lock service, which is used for locking, naming, and state distribution
2021: Dartmouth
Graduated with a degree in Computer Science - no one has asked to see my degree ever since my Parents last saw it in 2021 mxxxm.
My thoughts: I would do a liberal arts college a million times over - it is a time to accelerate intellectually in different domains at the same time.
College in a time to go 0-1 in different intellectual domains. I went 0-1 in Computer Science, 0 - (half in Math), 0-(quarter in Econ)
My regrets: I should have gone 0-1 in Government, Spanish, Economics as well. I find myself reading the same things I could have easily taken a class in college with with a Nobel Laurette Prof for.
2020: Google V2 (Hanover - Covid)
Built Jib which optimized Docker and OCI images for Java applications without a Docker daemon - and without deep mastery of Docker best-practices.
2019: Google V1 (SF)
Built Webboot - tools to let a u-root instance boot signed live distro images over the web.
2018: Leti Arts (GHANA)
Game Design and Computer Programming Intern - love GHANA
2017
Moved to Dartmouth College - good and bad times but love this College.
BackStory
2016: University of Zimbabwe studying Metallurgy, I wanted to study Electrical Engineering and I had the grades but ended up landing in Metallurgy because of Zimbaweans know what (reflection: example of misallocation of talent when systems are corrupt - I ended being the best student in the Java Course in the whole engineering department (got a nickname: MR JAVA) but still wasnt allowed to switch to Electrical Engineering), whole time I told my parents I was in Electrical Engineering and my only hope out of this was applying and getting accepted to an American college. Ended up getting accepted to DARTMOUTH COLLEGE. Tough times but definitely built some character.
2010-2015: High School years - best of years (will write more about this time of my life). Some times you dont need much to have a good time.
2005-2009: Transferred to a better Catholic run school. The beginning of my underdog years, started in Grade 3D (last out of four) and moved to the A grade (in one year). Pretty fun times - have some pics but dont remember much. The year 2005 is still one of those years stuck in my head.
2003-2004: Attended Primary School At Takunda Primary School - don't remember much expect, I was troublesome and also a good student.
